Don’t Discard Your Blessing!

I didn’t really pay attention … until I paid attention. But I’m really glad that I didn’t discard my blessing.

RESET: Now is the time!

June 25, 2018

I woke up this morning with this singular word reverberating in my spirit. So, here’s a quick Periscope that I hope will be a timely revelation (or reminder) to you. You are still “in the Game” and God has not changed his mind about you. 🙂

Sometimes, CLARITY comes in the DOING.

November 25, 2017

Consider this passage from John 9:6-7; “…He (Jesus) spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and applied the clay to his eyes, and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam.” So he went away and washed, AND CAME BACK SEEING.

Of Mindset and Meaning…

May 12, 2017

Have you ever considered that the way you think about things affects the meaning you derive (or assign) from that thing? Let’s talk about mindset and meaning.

Loving God with All My Heart?

March 29, 2010

When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was, He responded with a quotation of Deuteronomy 6:5. But in this crazy world where so much other stuff is competing for the attention and love of our hearts, how do we love God with all our heart? Check out this brief article and tools outline to gain some insights to that question.

Who Are You… Really?

June 14, 2009

I’ve began teaching a series at my local church entitled, “Revelations of God’s Love and Grace.” However, I’m taking some 3 to 4 weeks of this eight-week class to teach about “who” and “what” we are first.

You see, I have come to believe that much of the trouble, stress, and confusion that Christians experience is because they have little to no understanding of what happened to them when they “got saved”.

This is in large part due to the fact that “what” they are, that is, what comprises a human being and how receiving Christ (and his finished, redemptive work) affects that make up, was never effectively explained to them.

As a result, they found themselves set up for a life of confusion, guilt, condemnation, and generally speaking, less than what the “advertising” had promised.

Second Corinthians 5:17 tells us that anyone who is “in Christ” is a “new creature”. The old has gone and the new has come. Woohoo!!!

But wait, I still look the same, and… I’m still having a lot of the same OLD thoughts and feelings. What up?

Here’s the rub (and what isn’t well explained much of the time). You are a three-part entity; spirit, soul, and body (see II Thess. 5:23). When you received Christ as your savior, your spirit became reborn or “born again” [it was formerly dead in trespasses and sins; Ephesians 2:1]. But guess what, your soul and body DID NOT.

I know this sounds sacreligious, given the way many of us were brought along in church environments, but it is the truth.

So, on Monday, after you “got saved”, you ran headlong into the conflicting experiences with which your soul and body began to deal.

At that point you basically had two choices, (1) blow the whole “saved” thing off as bogus; (2) start playing a religious role and hoping everything promised “caught up” with you before you GOT CAUGHT faking your way through it.

Whoa! Talk about a set up for guilt, condemnation, and failure; that is a sure recipe.

All the while, you did not understand that, first of all, the REAL YOU WAS ACTUALLY BROUGHT TO LIFE (your spirit). Secondly, the “you” that you commonly understood to be you (your soul and body) began a journey on the path of supernatural transformation that is now possible by the “renewing of your mind.” (see Romans 12:1-2)

Once we understand who we really are, we can begin to yield to God’s process and open our souls to the flow of transformation coming out of our new living spirit.

We can skip the whole guilt and condemnation thing (see Romans 8:1) and begin experiencing the marvelous wonders of our new adventure as one joined together with the Spirit of Christ. We can revel in the “free gift of righteousness” and “the abundance of grace” lavished upon us by God in this new birth. (see Romans 5:17)

For some of you this may come across as a bit heretical or just plain not how you’re used to thinking about your life as a Christian/believer. But I challenge you to give it some meditative consideration and study it out like the Bereans in Acts 17, to “see if it’s true.”

If you have received Christ as your savior and His finished work (birth, life, death on the cross, resurrection from the dead, and ascension to the right hand of God, the Father) as valid for you, the the REAL YOU IS ALIVE AND WELL right now! As for the rest, the good news is you are now perfectly set to become all that God purposed in eternity that you be! How cool is that!?!

Sure, it will involve change, mental transformation, and perhaps a good bit of healing for past experiences, but it is now all possible for you.

Grab hold of these truths and be freed today into the life that God desires for you to have and that Christ died (and was raised again from the dead) for you to experience… a life of fullness and blessing in every area.

Until next time, think on these things and may God give you revelation for mastery and manifestation in your life.
