The Mindful Author

God is the Author and Finisher of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2) He is the Author of the story of our life, so why not co-operate with Him? Let Him write. He is an author who never overlooks any detail of the story.

As the character in the story, you are only experiencing it in the moment. You do not know what the next chapter holds and for that matter, you may not fully appreciate what has happened in the story up to this present point. But as we reflect upon our story (and that of others) we see the detailed hand of the Author at work. What could have gone one way went another, in our favor, because He was mindful to take care of the details of our story.

The car accident that could have killed you or left you paralyzed didn’t. The surgery that could have left you dead on the operating table didn’t. The stroke that could have left you a vegetable didn’t. The brain tumor that could have rendered you unaware of your own name didn’t. And even when tragedy struck, tragedy for which you thought you were totally unprepared, you find yourself revisiting the previous chapter of your story.  And there it is, in the details, the careful and mindful pen of the Author at work preparing you for what was coming in the “next chapter” that is now your current situation!

He is mindful and He has a plan for your story. It’s a plan for your wellbeing and not for calamity. It’s a plan with a future and a hope! (Jeremiah 29:11)

Like the runner whose coach keeps pushing even when she believes that he can do no better and that she has no strength left, a “second Wind” comes on, a new insight and a new wisdom takes hold. That runner finds herself reinvigorated and crossing the finish line in victory! Remember that I not only said He is the Author, He is the Finisher. He won’t leave your story half written and He won’t miss any detail necessary to completing the story.

Trust Him with your story. Trust Him to be mindful of every detail, every situation, every feeling, every thought that you’re experiencing. He knows and He cares. He is literally IN the story of your life WITH you. 🙂

Have you ever considered that the way you think about things affects the meaning you derive (or assign) from that thing? Let’s talk about mindset and meaning.

When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was, He responded with a quotation of Deuteronomy 6:5. But in this crazy world where so much other stuff is competing for the attention and love of our hearts, how do we love God with all our heart? Check out this brief article and tools outline to gain some insights to that question.

Who Are You… Really?

I’ve began teaching a series at my local church entitled, “Revelations of God’s Love and Grace.” However, I’m taking some 3 to 4 weeks of this eight-week class to teach about “who” and “what” we are first.

You see, I have come to believe that much of the trouble, stress, and confusion that Christians experience is because they have little to no understanding of what happened to them when they “got saved”.

This is in large part due to the fact that “what” they are, that is, what comprises a human being and how receiving Christ (and his finished, redemptive work) affects that make up, was never effectively explained to them.

As a result, they found themselves set up for a life of confusion, guilt, condemnation, and generally speaking, less than what the “advertising” had promised.

Second Corinthians 5:17 tells us that anyone who is “in Christ” is a “new creature”. The old has gone and the new has come. Woohoo!!!

But wait, I still look the same, and… I’m still having a lot of the same OLD thoughts and feelings. What up?

Here’s the rub (and what isn’t well explained much of the time). You are a three-part entity; spirit, soul, and body (see II Thess. 5:23). When you received Christ as your savior, your spirit became reborn or “born again” [it was formerly dead in trespasses and sins; Ephesians 2:1]. But guess what, your soul and body DID NOT.

I know this sounds sacreligious, given the way many of us were brought along in church environments, but it is the truth.

So, on Monday, after you “got saved”, you ran headlong into the conflicting experiences with which your soul and body began to deal.

At that point you basically had two choices, (1) blow the whole “saved” thing off as bogus; (2) start playing a religious role and hoping everything promised “caught up” with you before you GOT CAUGHT faking your way through it.

Whoa! Talk about a set up for guilt, condemnation, and failure; that is a sure recipe.

All the while, you did not understand that, first of all, the REAL YOU WAS ACTUALLY BROUGHT TO LIFE (your spirit). Secondly, the “you” that you commonly understood to be you (your soul and body) began a journey on the path of supernatural transformation that is now possible by the “renewing of your mind.” (see Romans 12:1-2)

Once we understand who we really are, we can begin to yield to God’s process and open our souls to the flow of transformation coming out of our new living spirit.

We can skip the whole guilt and condemnation thing (see Romans 8:1) and begin experiencing the marvelous wonders of our new adventure as one joined together with the Spirit of Christ. We can revel in the “free gift of righteousness” and “the abundance of grace” lavished upon us by God in this new birth. (see Romans 5:17)

For some of you this may come across as a bit heretical or just plain not how you’re used to thinking about your life as a Christian/believer. But I challenge you to give it some meditative consideration and study it out like the Bereans in Acts 17, to “see if it’s true.”

If you have received Christ as your savior and His finished work (birth, life, death on the cross, resurrection from the dead, and ascension to the right hand of God, the Father) as valid for you, the the REAL YOU IS ALIVE AND WELL right now! As for the rest, the good news is you are now perfectly set to become all that God purposed in eternity that you be! How cool is that!?!

Sure, it will involve change, mental transformation, and perhaps a good bit of healing for past experiences, but it is now all possible for you.

Grab hold of these truths and be freed today into the life that God desires for you to have and that Christ died (and was raised again from the dead) for you to experience… a life of fullness and blessing in every area.

Until next time, think on these things and may God give you revelation for mastery and manifestation in your life.

Do You Believe In Visions?

Subconscious Religious Paradigms Must Be Removed

Erroneous Subconscious Religious Paradigms Must Be Destroyed.

I had a vision just now (a little after 5 a.m.).  I was standing on the deck of a ship. Out in front, ahead, was a large iceberg.

It was understood that given the size of the visible portion of the iceberg, the underside was even larger.
All of a sudden missiles began to fire, flying over my head from the ship and striking the iceberg.  As the missiles exploded, it began to break up into pieces and simply float away.
I believe that God is preparing people, like me, like us, like others in the Kingdom, to destroy subconscious paradigms that lie (no pun intended) between us and where God intends to take us.
I had the sense, in watching the destruction of the iceberg, that it would take “forever” for that iceberg to “melt on its own”.  But the missiles and torpedoes made quick work of it, and it began to float away in chunks.
Some of what is about to happen will not be subtle. But the resulting “clearance” in the minds/souls of the people of God will be tremendous and dare I say… SUDDEN.
Our forward progress can be accelerated, precisely because the THREAT of wrong theologies, religious constructs, and harmful, blocking paradigms will have been removed from our pathway. Our course… our Pathway of Purpose will be clear and we will begin to quickly move through points of destiny and toward our Destiny.
Amen! Hallelujah! The LORD be magnified!
